The context
n8n is powerful, but its technical barrier pushed away the analysts who needed automation most. They dropped off at the first node.
The real problem
The tension was control versus black-box effect: over-simplifying hid what was being created; showing everything reintroduced the complexity that scared users off.

Summarized logs so support acts without opening n8n
Execution summaries let support act fast without diving into the technical editor, cutting dependency on the eng squad.
My role
- Interviewed analysts to map the real pain in building flows.
- Designed the wizard with pre-validation and block suggestions.
- Defined the health dashboards and execution logs.
The AI layer
- Block suggestions guided the user without deciding for them.
- Pre-validation flagged invalid configurations before execution.
Outcomes
Building simple automations became much faster.
Fewer configuration errors reported by users.
More confidence in automatic re-runs thanks to clear logs.
What I’d do differently
Templates needed real payload examples from the start. Without them, onboarding felt easy until the first real case.
